Working to Transform Haiti Through Prayer
A long time ago, in the courts of Heaven, a Divine drama unfolded. The Father looked at His Son. The perfect reflection of His glory, the radiance of His nature, and the delight of His Soul looked back at His Father with longing in His heart. The Father said, “Jesus, if you just ask Me, I will give You the nations of the earth as Your inheritance, the ends of the earth as Your possession.” (Psalm 2:8, paraphrased) As The Father asked this question, I assure you, Haiti was on Jesus’ mind. We believe that though Haiti may be despised and poor in man’s eyes, this nation is a pearl of great value to the Lord. We believe that God desires to use Haiti as a revival center to see the Caribbean prepared for the coming of the Lord.
The mission of Haitian Pearl, the International House of Prayer’s (IHOPKC) outreach ministry to Haiti, is to mobilize prayer for Haiti while serving the nation through works of justice. We desire to partner with the local Haitian church and empowering and equipping them to engage in the Great Commission through night and day prayer and works of justice. We have set aside a prayer meeting each week at IHOPKC to focus on Haiti. We also mobilize prayer through social media desiring through it that intercessors would be touched with a burden for Haiti.
We regularly travel to Haiti—usually once a year. While we are on the ground, we connect with ministries that have a desire to engage in prayer and worship and also to serve Haiti with works of justice. We train, bring needed materials, and serve alongside these ministries in many various ways.
