Since 2020, the landscape of abortion in America has quietly, radically changed. Today, two out of three abortions happen not in a clinic but in a bathroom — two pills, mailed in a plain envelope, ending a precious life forming in the womb. Many of those pills cross state lines into places where abortion is illegal, slipping past the very protections the ending of Roe was supposed to secure.
Pro-LIFE states are fighting back. On September 9th, Louisiana — joined by Rosalie Markezich, a courageous survivor of abortion pill coercion — will stand before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Louisiana v. FDA, arguing the FDA never had authority to approve a drug whose entire purpose is to end a life rather than heal one. Allan Parker, my friend and colleague for many years, recently filed a brief arguing the FDA overstepped its congressional mandate, and pointing to a striking statistic — in a 2021 survey, 96% of biologists asked affirmed that human life begins at fertilization. Science and statute, they argue, are on the side of life.
We will be there. Red tape across our mouths that says LIFE, crying out for the ones who cannot cry out for themselves.
In 2024, God gave me a smooth stone — like David long ago — to take into this fight. We wrote Plead Their Case, a song and short film of a woman considering taking the abortion pill. I don’t know yet how God will use this in the months ahead, but I’m asking Him to turn this generation back to His own answer for when life begins.
